Thank you for your impressive, moving, remarkable film and for making the issue of hunger in all its dimensions accessible to a wide audience.  I hope your film helps galvinises momentum for the urgent changes needed to end hunger.  We are campaigning on these issues.  If there are ways we can work with you we would welcome that.

I am eager to know if the Reel Food Film Fest could get a copy of the Hunger Season to show in March 09. I have sent a couple of e-mails - thanks - Kate Green

The video on the front page of hungerseason.org states that there are 800 million hungry people in the world. However, as a concequence of the current crises, the FAO has adjusted this number to 963 million people. Please see the press release here.

The food crisis in Swaziland is only one of the many crises afflicting this kingdom. There is also a huge political / human rights crisis. Political parties are banned and free speech is curtailed. Swaziland is ruled by an absolute monarch who is bleeding the kingdom dry.

I blog on Swaziland and human rights. Come visit http://www.swazimedia.blogspot.com

As I wait for the Foodbank truck to arrive so our food pantry at First United Methodist Church in Madison, Wisconsin can feed 120 or more families this week, I’m thinking about Justice.  The struggles he faces make mine seem like minor irritations.  This film not only documents the enormous problems about food and hunger, but it shows the real lives involved.  Though set in a continent so many worlds away from my life, it brought it home.  I expected to be depressed and discouraged after seeing this film, instead I was uplifted, inspired and motivated.  Thank you Justice for sharing your life with me and thank you Beadie for your extraordinary film-making talent and story-telling skills.  Well, my food truck just arrived and the work goes on!

Hi

This is a very powerful and informative documentary. I have been teaching on this subject, in formal (secondary and tertiary) and informal settings (church) for over 35 years, and it is one of the best resources I have come across in that time.

Is there any way in which I can purchase a DVD of The Hunger Season? It would be an invaluable tool.
